THE WINTER SEASON IN COLOMBIA LEAVES MORE HAVOC.

The winter season in Colombia has left 300 deaths and millions of victims. Departments most affected are: Atlántico, Bolívar, Magdalena, Córdoba, Sucre, Chocó, Antioquia, Cesar, Valle, Cauca y Santander.

In Bogota, the situation is worse than many cities, the Bogota River has overflowed and it has affected to many sectors like Kennedy and Tunjuelito.

In Aracata y Fundacion, municipalities of Magdalena, the overflow of the Fundacion River,  provoked flooding in several neighborhoods of these municipalities. The flooding also results in blockage of the Eastern Trunk.

According to the report of the Regional Committee for Disaster Prevention Magdalena, a downpour of more than 4 hours provoked the overflow. CREPAD issues a yellow alert for 15 municipalities that are near the banks of the Magdalena River.

CARLOS "EL PIBE" VALDERRAMA

Carlos Alberto Valderrama (1961- ).He is a Colombian soccer player. He is one of the most talented midfielders in Colombia and South America. He was born on September 2 of 1961 in Santa Marta, Colombia. He began his sport career in Colombia.

• Millonarios (1984)
•  Deportivo Cali (1985 - 1988)

Then El Pibe, played in two international teams:

•      Montpellier (France) (1988 - 1990 )
•           Valladolid (Spain) (1990 - 1991)

He came back to Colombia and He played in:

• Independiente Medellin (1992)
• Junior de Barranquilla (1993 - 1996)

His last stage of his career was in Major League Soccer of U.S.A. In that country he played for:

•            Tampa Bay Munity
•            Miami Fusion
•       Colorado Rapids

He was a spectacular soccer player; he had a exceptional technique, good dribbling and phenomenal capacity for passing He is known as a master in give passes. His popularity also grown due to his hairstyle.. Even, Pibe fans wear wigs alluding to his hair.  

He won The Golden Ball as the best American soccer player twice in 1987 and 1993. He was the best soccer player of the league in Colombia and U.S.A in many opportunities.

He exceeded the 100 international matches with Colombia selection. He debuted in 1985 and he was the captain of the team for 10 years.  He played 5 editions of America Cup and 3 editions of FIFA World Cup.

He had team partners such as Rene Higuita, Freddy Rincon, Adolfo "Tren" Valencia and Faustino "Tino” Asprilla.

LIFE IN 70's-80´s-90's

The people in 70's were very funny, they danced Disco and Reggae. Michael Jackson was adored by all. Programs such as Chavo del Ocho and Doraemon were the most watched by the kids. Bands like Kiss and Iron Maiden was appearing.

People wore jackets and bell-boots pants . he Afro was the most popular haircut in that time. In 80's , Madonna started her musical career, appeared the punks and the people wore very tight clothes. In 90's people started to use the computers because the IT grew very fast.

Michael Jackson was born in Indiana On 29 August, 1958. Michael Jackson was a singer, composer and dancer. Well-known as "The King of Pop". "Thriller" was the World's best seller album. Michael Jackson beat about 80 world records and for this reason, He is in Guinness Records' book. He was the most famous musical artist at all time with nearly 700 millions albums sold.




On June 25 of 2010, Michael died, by a heart attack. But many people think that his personal doctor, Conrad Murray, is the most suspected of the Michael's dead. His death shocked to musical world and we still miss him 

COLOMBIA IS THE BEST !!

COLOMBIA IS THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

Colombia is the best country in the world for its landscapes, its weather, its places. But the most important aspect why Colombia is the best is because of the people. Colombian people is not ordinary people. The Colombian people are friendly, solidarity and workers.

The colombians are the second happiest people in the world, but I think that Colombia is the best place for living. In Colombia there are many fairs and carnivals like Barranquilla carnival,  Flowers Fair in Medellin, Colombia Moda and the Manizales Fair.

Singers like Juanes and Shakira; writers such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez; football players like Carlos Valderrama and Faustino Asprilla are a clear example of how amazing the Colombian people are.

Colombia is a nice place and how the TV commercial of Colombia is Passion says : ¡Colombia, the risk is wanting to stay!

My favorite band

MY FAVORITE BAND 

I like all kind of  musical genre: Vallenato, salsa, merengue, balads, reggaeton, pop, rock, etc. But, personally, I like an specific rock band because their songs are great and talk about the reality of youth. That band is Linkin Park.

Linkin Park is a rock band. This band was founded in 1996 in  Agoura Hills, Los Ángeles, California and is formed by 6 members:

• Chester Bennington (voice)
• Mike Shinoda (voice, keyboard, guitar and sampler)
• David Farrell (basso)
• Joe Hahn (sampler)
• Brad Delson (guitar)
• Rob Bourdon(battery).

In the End, A place of my head, Numb are songs of this rock band. In particular, I like the song Numb. This is the song.

Colombia ten years ago...

In Colombia, happened many thing ten years ago.

In Colombia, Many things happened ten years ago. In January, the Colombian president, Andres Pastrana, was negotiating with FARC in the DMZ. AUC perpetrated the Chengue slaughter. The ex-governor of Meta, Alan was kidnapped by the FARC. But, the most important thing that happened 10 years ago was that the Colombia Team won the The America Cup,  defeating to Mexico Team by 1:0. Ivan Ramiro Cordoba scored the goal of the victory.

Hello, I am  Rafael Eduardo Acevedo. I´m 18 years old and I am from Campoalegre, Huila but I was raised in Caquetá. For this reason I love Caquetá and his capital Florencia.

I studied at Instituto Tecnico Industrial. Nowadays,  I'm a student of Amazonia University and I´m in Second Semester of English degree. Besides, I am studying at SENA a Technological  career in Systems.

I consider myself a funny person and a person who loves English. This language opens many doors in the professional world. For this reason. I choose this career.
